You have done so much planning and preparations that it is inevitable that you will feel a little stressed on your wedding day. Don’t worry, all of your hard work is going to pay off and you will have the wedding you have always dreamed about. Wedding day stress is something every bride goes through, unfortunately, but there are things you can do to minimize it and stay calm and relaxed in spite of everything going on around you.

1. Confirm Details with Vendors the Day Before
Confirming all the details with the vendor ( and our planner would have already done this if you are working with one ) the day before the big event can give you peace of mind and help you to feel more confident and in control of things. The more you can do the day before, the more time you will have for the unexpected things that might otherwise wreak havoc with your timeline like last-minute changes or having to pick someone up from the airport.
2. Consider Doing a First Look
A suggestion for getting rid of those wedding day nerves is to consider doing a first look. While it used to be considered bad luck to see each other before the wedding, it can actually help steady your nerves to see that they are as nervous as you are and you can help each other to feel calm. This is something that many couples are doing and it seems to be working out great.
This way you can spend a little time with your groom-to-be and get your wedding photos done and out of the way. This will help you to relax a bit and free up that time on your timeline. Not having to do the photos on your wedding day means that you can spend more time greeting your guests and ensuring that everything is ready. Related: Inspire Your Own First Look
3. Get a Good Night’s Sleep the Night Before
You may want to try and go to bed a little earlier than usual because with all the thoughts racing around in your head, it will take you longer to fall asleep. You can make yourself a soothing cup of chamomile tea or eat a handful of walnuts an hour before bed to help you relax and drift off.
4. Wake Up Early and Start the Day Slowly
It is always good to start the day early and with a healthy breakfast. Purposefully starting slow helps you feel less rushed and calmer. Since you got an early start, there is no need to rush because you have not used any time that was not already accounted for. Sometimes you just need to take a moment for a long reflection to remind yourself that “you got this.” Be sure to eat some fruit to give yourself a boost of extra energy for the day.
5. Mindfulness Meditation
The nice thing about meditation is that it can be done anywhere, anytime. Even in the car on the way to the church or wedding venue. Practice some slow, deep breathing and focus on the things that truly make you happy and those wedding day jitters will fly away.
6. Play Relaxing Music While You Get Read and
Music has a big effect on your mood and energy levels. People play music with a strong, pounding beat when they are excited and energized and it seems to lift their mood and gets them in an excited state of being. Likewise, with relaxation, play calm music with a gentle beat like an instrumental to slow you down and help you stay relaxed.
7. Celebrate The Transition
You are starting a transition and it’s the perfect time to spend a few minutes with your bridesmaids and share a glass of wine or champagne to toast your journey into your new life. One glass of wine will help you relax, but stick to just one, and don’t be tempted to have more. Alcohol consumed quickly has a way of sneaking up on you later.
