In this post, you will learn:

Not Eating May Affect
Your Blood Sugar

Why You Shouldn't Avoid Eating On Your Wedding Day

1. Not Eating May Affect Your Blood Sugar

Some brides worry that they will be too nervous to eat, but not eating can make your  blood sugar drop  too low making you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or pass out. You don’t want to be sick on your wedding day so make sure to keep your blood sugar levels consistent by eating small frequent meals throughout the day. A few pieces of fruit or a serving of protein with a side of veggies will fill you up and give you energy for the rest of the day. This is especially important if you have  diabetes

It is important that you stick to your routine and don’t skip meals. If you take medication to lower your blood sugar it is vital that you take your medicine and eat frequent meals during the day to keep your blood sugar on an even level. The medicine will cause your blood sugar to drop and not eating may make it drop even more creating a dangerous situation. Don’t skip meals, take your medication properly, and monitor your blood sugar throughout the day.

2. Keep Your Strength Up

You may be concerned that having a full stomach will make you feel bloated or uncomfortable, but not to worry. Eat small amounts and spread your meals out over the course of the day and you shouldn’t have any intestinal issues. You need food to keep you energized and balanced on a day that may feel overwhelming with so many things to be in charge of. Don’t neglect to feed yourself because you think you don’t have the time to spare.

3. Being Hungry All Day Will Make You Hangry

While you may be thinking that you have too much to do to sit down for a meal, not eating and being hungry all day will make you irritable. Having to listen to your stomach growl and feel those hunger pangs will only make you miserable, and downright grouchy if dinner is served late. Bring a basket with some snacks and reserve20 minutes to sit down and eat dinner before the ceremony. You’ll appreciate having a few minutes to enjoy a meal together before the festivities begin.

4. A Lot of Thought Went into the Menu

You put together the menu and you are paying for the meal so you might as well enjoy it along with your guests. The world will not come to an end if you and your new spouse sit down together to enjoy your first meal as husband and wife. All of your planning has lead up to this special day and you are entitled to enjoy every moment of it.

5. You Can Eat Without Ruining Your Dress

You may be afraid of ruining your dress, but you can eat in your dress without getting it dirty. A light meal will hold you over until dinner is served. You can bring something to cover your dress while you eat to avoid spills. You can also have some snacks on hand to eat throughout the day that won’t drip or leave you with sticky fingers.
