Knowing what to buy a couple who is getting married doesn’t have to be a complicated ordeal. There are ways to determine an appropriate gift based on how well you know them or how close the relationship. In past years, people would choose china or glassware, but there are so many other choices available that you can really get creative with it. Here are a few ideas to spark your imagination when it comes to buying wedding gifts for couples.

Now, choosing a gift for someone you are very close to is fairly easy since you know their likes and dislikes, but what about couples you are acquainted with but don’t know really well? This is where it gets tricky. If you’re not sure about their personal preferences, then you can go with something general, but imaginative that both of them will like.

Is there a registry?

A really simple way to choose a gift would be to pick something from their registry if they have one. A wedding or bridal registry is a service offered by stores to help make gifting easier for the guests and the recipients by having the bride and groom make a list of the gifts they’d like to receive along with an approximate price so the person buying the gift can keep on track with their budget.

Besides the wedding registry, you can break down your choices by relationship and choose the one that best fits the situation. Here are some ideas for unique wedding gifts for couples you are close to, and those you don’t know well, to get your creative juices flowing:
