6 Things to Keep In Mind When Creating Your Registry List
You’ve conquered your list of things to do today and there is just one thing left. Now comes the fun part of wedding planning; creating a gift registry list. It should include a variety of gifts that guests can choose from and be flexible to allow online ordering. Here are a few things to consider when making your list.
In this post, you will get ideas on:
Setting Up Your Wedding Registry The Right Way- 6 Tips For Success
You can now register for everything from bicycles to power tools to the down payment on a new home (cash gift). Place settings are still very popular but don't limit yourself to that. Think back to when you were a kid and wish books were popular. If you could have anything you wanted, what would it be?
2. Keep Prices in Mind
Register for gifts in a range of prices so every guest will be able to afford something. Not everyone has the same budget and even those who have a small budget will want to buy you something. Include some inexpensive items along with some higher-end gifts for variety. The average amount spent: $50 to $150

3. Consolidate
It's hard to keep track of five different registries. Try to find a registry or store that has most of what you want all in one place. It might take you a few tries, but consolidating everything in one place makes it easier for you and your guests.
4. Convenience is King
Make sure guests all over the country can access your registry online at any time, day or night. Your cousin in Alabama may get off work at 2 o’clock in the morning and want to browse your list. It should be available 24/7.
5. Consider "gift-ability"
As much as you might need one, guests don't love giving bathmats as wedding gifts. It’s just doesn’t feel right to give a “generic” gift. Maybe make it a whole set with towels and shower curtains. Make sure you'd give what you want to get.
6. Update Your List
Keep track of what gets bought. Check your list every 24 hours to make sure it is current. Add more items to your list once all that remains are the $10 kitchen gadgets and the $500 cookware set. You want to have a variety of items in a variety of price ranges so guests don’t feel they’re being “pushed” to buy the higher-priced items simply because it is all that is left.
