So, guys, what do you think it means to be a groomsman at your friend’s or best friend’s wedding? Well, if you were asked, it means you were chosen because he has faith in you and trusts that you will be there for him on one of the most important days of his life.

This means you are one of his “brand” representatives, one of his spokesmen, and one of his ambassadors as he navigates through this momentous occasion. If you think you can do it but are a little unsure of what the job entails, let us discuss some of the expectations:

Groomsman Responsibility: Success Tips

1. You will be expected to participate in the rehearsal and attend the subsequent dinner

2. As the groom’s representative, you will be an usher prior to the commencement of the ceremony

3. You will escort/walk a bridesmaid down the aisle

4. You will be asked to help the best man plan the bachelor party (one of the more exciting duties)

5. As one of his designated attendants, you will support the groom on his wedding day, ensuring he has nothing to worry about

6. All these duties and expectations may require you to lower yourself and be a self-described “wedding minion”…a title you will earn and look back on with distinction
