The first step in planning your wedding, you should figure out how much you want to spend, how many people you want to invite and what is it you want to say at your wedding. Thereafter, get a scrapbook or even a notebook and start compiling your ideas by cutting out pictures from magazines or books that interest you or sign up with pinterest.com for more ideas for planning great events.

Magazines and books are a great way to get inspiration! Our favorite magazines are Real Simple, and Philadelphia Magazine; and our favorite websites are www.trendhuntercom and www.coolhunter.com, which gives us great ideas. After a few pages in your portfolio or boards via Pinterest, you will start to see a pattern develop of colors, themes, and foods that you favor.
Second, figure out the day, time, and location for your wedding – weekdays are more affordable than weekends (see below). Then start a preliminary guest list and estimate guest count.

The number of guests will shape everything from budget to location. This may be an obvious point, but remember, the more guests, the more you have to put away in your budget.
