wedding ideas - wedding tips - wedding ideas blog by K'Mich in Philadelphia PA - wedding planners in Philadelphia PA

Now that the year is coming to an end and we are approaching the New Year, engagement season will soon be upon us, with its love, compassion, and joy.

The New Year offers a fresh start and also new trends. It can add a new spin to old ideas and can be an introduction to new ideas. This is the year where we recommend staying away from the ordinary. Taking chances and being different will be in full effect this year.

We have created a few tips that will add a pop to your wedding. These 7 tips will have your guest awing in amazement, from the entertainment, down to the smallest fixture.

Also, we would be remised if we didn't mention
  • Pantone's color of the year for 2019, -  "Living Coral".  This color is described as an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”
  • Pantone's color of the year 2021, - "Classic Blue". This color is described as, "It encourages us to look beyond the obvious and expand our thinking… Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era…Read

Both meanings, push us to step outside our comfort zone to do things differently. So, add any of the two colors sparingly to your wedding and watch your decor come alive.

Best Top 7 Ways To Do This
7. The Getaway Car - Pimp it
Your decor should not stop with your reception or ceremony, it should continue to tell your story as you both drive off in the dusk/evening. So, go ahead and "pimp that ride". Continue to leave your guests speechless and leave them wanting more.

6. Entrances - Ceremony & Reception - Pimp it
Regarding this space, make sure your guests get the full effect of your wedding. The entrance should continue telling your guests your story and what to look forward to. Your decor should not stop on the inside of your ceremony/reception. It should extend to all parts of your wedding so that your guests can enjoy it from every aspect and you too.

Your entertainment should have your guests on the edge of their seats. They should not be sitting (only to eat) but should be on the dance floor or having fun with some type of entertainment you provided. It can be anything you both like. 3. Floral/Flowers - Pimp it
Next year it's all about Pampas Grass and Anthuriums. These two flowers really make your bridal and floral arrangements standout. Imagine adding a touch of "Live Coral" to these wonderful flowers, you would have yourself a statement piece. Try adding one or both of these flowers throughout your wedding to see this idea in full effect

What is Pampas Grass?

Know as, "Cortaderia selloana, commonly known as pampas grass, is a flowering plant native to southern South America, including the Pampas region after which it is named. There are around 25 species in the genus Cortaderia. It is a tall grass, growing in dense tussocks that can reach a height of 3 m."  this flower-like grass gives your floral decor life. With so many colors to chose from, it's no wonder it is added to bouquets, floral decor, centerpiece, backdrops, aisle markers and much more.

What are Anthuriums?

The Anthurium is also known as Painted Tongue, Flamingo Flower (Flamingo Lily) or Tail Flower/Laceleaf. Anthuriums are grown for their brightly colored flower spathes and their ornamental leaves. They are considered, "...with its open, heart-shaped flowers and tropical disposition, it's no wonder that anthuriums have come to symbolize hospitality. It is a warm flower that inspires happiness and abundance." Although it is considered a house plant, this hardy plant is great for floral decor or bridal bouquet and wedding decor.

 2. Cake Ideas - Pimp it
We are still loving Geode cake look. With the new twist, we are leaning towards featuring real fruit fillings, instead of the crystal/amethyst filling that we got so accustomed to... How can we forget the mirror glazed cake that is sweeping the world in amazement? Even cheesecake is taking a spot on the cake scene, from flavored, spice, tart to regular cheesecake.  Just remember to make it your own tasteful cake.

What is Geode Cake?

"A cake with a large indentation filled with graduated blue (you can add your wedding colors) crystals/amethyst". These steal-worthy geode ideas are very chic and trendy - a design that's sure to dazzle your guests!

What is the mirror glaze cake?

Galaxy Mousse Cakes are almost too pretty to be real! ... If you're not familiar with mirror glaze, it's a white chocolate glaze made with gelatin that is poured over cakes—usually mousse or other soft molded desserts—to give them an ultra-shiny appearance, like the surface of a mirror.

1. Personalization - Pimp it
Your wedding should tell a story... your STORY, not a trend or something you found on Pinterest. We are not knocking Pinterest or anything like that, but we are just saying if you want to make your wedding memorable, copying something you found there is not really how you make your wedding memorable. The best way to make your wedding memorable is by making it personable. It shows off both your styles, tastes, swagger, and personalities. Basically, it pushes your creative juices to start churning at full speed. It makes you dig deeper to find what makes you, YOU. #everyweddingasastorytotell
